STEPHEN YANG
Co-Founder / Partner

Stephen Yang is the managing member and co-founder of Yang Capital and the founder of Point Hospitality.  Prior to forming Yang Capital, he was a founding Managing Principal of Walnut Hill where he acquired, owned and operated a diverse real estate portfolio in New York and San Francisco.  He served as a founding Principal and Managing Director at Square Mile Capital as well as Vice President at Deutsche Bank.  Stephen graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Finance and Technology Management and received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.  

Ralph Welsch-Lehmann
CFO

Ralph Welsch-Lehmann joined Yang Capital Group in April 2020, and serves as a fractional CFO for the Group. Ralph is an active early-stage investor and serves as fractional CFO for several companies in sectors ranging from private equity, FinTech, SaaS, and gaming. Before joining, Ralph was the Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Deutsche Bank's DB Private Equity business. As COO for DB PE, he was responsible for the operational readiness of the business and managed Finance, Operations, Risk Management, IT, HR, Fund Finance and outsourced vendors. Before that, Ralph held other senior-level positions at Deutsche Bank in Finance, Private Clients and Asset Management and Corporate Development. Ralph started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Financial Services and International Business Practice in New York. He holds a Master of Business Administration from James Madison University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from EBS University of Business and Law. He is a registered Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Merri Weiner
Operations Manager

Merri’s experience in the investment management industry spans 20+years.  Most recently she was the Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Operations for a Bay Area based Registered Investment Advisory firm. Merri also had roles as a client support analyst for several financial software companies.  At Yang Capital Group, Merri works closely with Stephen Yang on investor communication, LLC state filings and liaises with outside vendors.


Advisory Board

Dan Yoo

Dan has held pivotal roles at leading companies such as Coinbase and LinkedIn, where he served as the Vice President of Business and Data. Before joining Coinbase, Dan was the Chief Operating Officer at NerdWallet. His expertise extends to board positions, having served on the Board of Directors at Care.com and the Policy Owner’s Committee at Northwestern Mutual Life. Additionally, he co-founded and partnered at Stone Korean Kitchen. Dan earned a BSBA in Management and Finance with a minor in Government from Georgetown University. He later received an MBA in General Management and Management of Technology from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.

Jens Voges

Jens has dedicated his 25+ year career to building and running companies that make innovative and complex hardware products. His experience spans many industries, including automotive, medical devices, high tech, food service and consumer electronics. He started his career as a mechanical engineer and operations manager learning industry best practices from large multinational corporations and has held executive level leadership positions at start-ups and mid-market companies for the last 20+ years. Jens has hands-on experience navigating the full life cycle from product ideation through on- and off-shore mass production and end-of-life. He is the inventor on 12 US utility patents and their international counterparts. He has earned engineering degrees from Dartmouth College and MIT and an MBA from MIT Sloan.

Katherine Chan

Katherine previously worked at Airbnb as part of the deal team for customer experience integration and service design for Airbnb's premium customer segments. She specialized in investments as part of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' private equity funds and management company. Previously, she served on the acquisition and asset management teams of Ohana Real Estate Advisors and as a consultant for Pinnacle Advisory Group. Katherine graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Hotel Administration and received her M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.   

Stan Nix

Stan serves as the Chief Executive Officer and is a Founding Partner of Timberline Real Estate Partners and oversees the company’s portfolio and real estate investment and development strategy.

Prior to founding Timberline in 2018, Stan held the position of Principal and Chief Operating Officer at Greenfield Partners, an SEC-registered multi-asset class real estate fund manager. During his 18 years at Greenfield, Stan oversaw portfolio management across nine discretionary equity funds, headed the firm’s asset management activities in the US and overseas. Stan has been directly involved in the acquisition, development, management, financing, and disposition of 20M+ SF of office, 12M+ SF of industrial, 8,400 hotel keys, and over 65,000 acres of land investments. Stan received an MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management and a BS from Birmingham Southern College.
